She is a lower-energy dog who is happiest simply being near her people, whether that’s relaxing on the couch, following you around the house, or enjoying a quiet evening together.

Willa has wonderful manners and an easy-going temperament. She transitions well into new environments and has the foundation training that makes bringing home an adult dog so enjoyable.

Her only “fault” is that she’s a little too talented at finding extra treats! Because of this, she will need a family committed to helping her reach and maintain a healthier weight. With proper diet and regular activity, we expect her to comfortably lose the extra pounds and enjoy many happy years ahead.

Willa would thrive in a home looking for a devoted companion rather than a high-energy adventure buddy. She has so much love to give and deserves a family that will spoil her with attention (but maybe not quite so many snacks 😉).

Retirement Home Consideration – Pebbles

This is one of the hardest posts I’ve ever written.

Pebbles has been part of our family since she was a puppy. She was shown extensively when she was younger and has always been a special girl. Unlike many of our dogs, Pebbles never had a litter of puppies. She eventually retired from showing and went to live with my grandparents, where she became a beloved companion and enjoyed a quieter pace of life.

After losing both of my grandparents this past year, Pebbles came back home to us. While she is doing well, I have struggled with the decision of whether keeping her here is truly what is best for her. With our busy household, multiple dogs, puppies, and constant activity, I find myself wondering if she would be happier once again as someone’s special companion in a quieter home.

To be clear, Pebbles does not have to go anywhere. She is safe, loved, and has a home with us for the rest of her life if that’s where she stays. This is not a decision being made out of necessity. I am simply looking to see if there might be the perfect retirement home that would allow her to be the center of someone’s world.

Pebbles is potty pad trained, crate trained, and accustomed to living in a home environment. She would likely thrive with a retired individual or couple, or in a lower-key household where she can enjoy plenty of attention, companionship, and a predictable routine.

Finding the right fit is far more important to me than finding a home quickly. She deserves nothing less than a family who will cherish her as much as we do.
